I'm one big, walking contradiction. A thought one day may seem contrary to a thought the day before. That's just me. I often like to occasionally take both sides of a discussion. That helps me see all angles before deciding on how I feel. So, ride along and try to keep up!

First post
"Success"
(most often attributed to Emerson, though scholars say that attribution is incorrect: http://www.cla.sc.edu/engl/emerson/ephemera/success.html):
To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of
intelligent persons and the affection of children; to
earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure
the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others; to give of one’s self; to
leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy
child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and
sung with exultation; to know even one life has
breathed easier because you have lived—this is to
have succeeded.
You may ask, if my first post contains a quote, why didn't I quote something from the Bible? I think the answer is as simple as: the Bible is such a big part of my everyday life that the "Success" quote stood out to me as being unique.
And, what is life without love, laughter, and children?
I love laughter. Laughter is the great healer. When I'm depressed I either eat chocolate or go to the movies and watch a comedy. (Or both!) If I'm angry, make me laugh and the anger disappears.
And I love love. I have been known to be in love with love. (But as I grow older I become more and more cynical about ever "falling in love" again. More on that in another post.) There's rarely a time in my life when I don't have a crush on someone. Crushes make every moment of the day a glorious adventure.
So, my motto to myself: "Laugh often and love much."
